TANZANIA
Tanzania is often referred to as “the Switzerland of Africa,” because of its reputation for calm and stability. Tanzania is a strikingly beautiful and incredibly varied country with open plains, massive mountains, long white beaches, dark forests, impressive rivers and multi-cultured peoples – there is something here for everyone.
Why travel to Tanzania?
Tanzania offers superb wildlife viewing in top-class parks and is the home of the annual great migration where over 2.5 million wildebeest and zebra migrate from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. The wildlife of Tanzania, both in terms of sheer quantity and species, is probably the most abundant on the continent. Before you start your safari, why not tick an item of your bucket list and climb Mount Kilimanjaro?
Highlights
Tanzania almost has too many highlights to mention! They range from the highest peak in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro, to the endless plains of the Serengeti and the lush greenery of Ngorongoro Crater, a microcosm of Africa. And from the large herds of elephants in Tarangire National Park to the majestic lakes of Manyara and Arusha National Park.
There is Mount Meru which ranks as Tanzania’s second highest mountain and one of Africa´s most beautiful volcanoes. Tanzania’s part of the Great Rift Valley includes Lake Tanganyika, Lake Natron, Lake Manyara, Lake Eyasi, Lake Victoria and Lake Makati, all blessed with amazing biodiversity.
The southern game reserves of Ruaha and Selous are lesser known and offer an authentic Out-of-Africa experience with baobab trees, elephant and even wild dog.
Your Tanzania safari is not complete without a stay on the paradise beaches of Zanzibar, Pemba or Mafia Island, which are also great snorkelling and diving destinations.
